Rare Antique Ottoman Coral and Bone Sherbert Spoon

Bone bowl and handle with hand-carved coral beads, topped with a hand-carved coral animal. These spoons were used to serve dessert and sweet foods, typically fruit sherbert, in the homes of nobility and wealthy merchants of Istanbul and the Ottoman Empire in the late 18th and 19th Centuries.

Istanbul, Mid to Late 19th Century.

Good vintage condition. Small chips in coral.
