Rare Antique Ottoman Mother of Pearl Sherbert Spoon

Coconut wood bowl with alternating bands of Mother of Pearl and engraved brass on the handle. These spoons were used to serve dessert and sweet foods, typically fruit sherbert, in the homes of nobility and wealthy merchants of Istanbul and the ottoman empire in the late 18th and 19th Centuries.
